Trifecta

Ann Coulter (Author/Lawyer) - She bites like a rabid dog but there's no need to check for rabies afterwards. She will tear any weak liberal to shreds and have them crying home to their mommy. The best part about her is her bruttally honest answers where she clearly doesn't care how you feel about it. She's got more attitude and comeback to any liberal left wing nut challenge that I've ever heard. She is dismissive because doesn't feel the need to give things a second thought or provide any explanation. She knows what she knows and she's pretty much right on. Oh, and she likes to shoot guns.

Laura Ingrham (Radio/Laywer) - She takes Ann Coulters spunk to a different level of demure and sophistication for those who actually prefer that. Laura is smart and stays on topic. She knows what she's talking about and you'd be a fool to challenge her on conservative values. Good luck trying to win a discussion with her b/c she's got more to say about everything than you could possibly come up with. She is unrelenting in her well articulated conservative views with her case and point style it's no wonder she does a better job on O'Reilley than the Big Bill himself. He better watch his seat closely.

Megyn Kelly (Television/Lawyer) - Let's just get the easy part out of the way. Megyn Kelly is easy on the eyes. Sexy blonde hair with big eyes, and always showing off those legs. But the best feature about Megyn is her unrelenting dislike towards liberals and their views. She expresses herself in very tense tones akin to someone whining in a smart and sexy way. Ultimately, she knows her stuff because she's got strong principles and never stands down. Expect an occasionaly S bomb or F bomb when she's being interviewed by her pears when she gets frustrated. It's really cute.

"33 Minutes" The Movie

Russia is offering to end it's deployment of missiles to neighboring countries if the US scraps it's plans for a missile defense system. Having won the White House, Liberals in Congress have plans to appease them by completely dismantling America's missile defense program, leaving our country without any effective defense against missile attack.

Russia is dealing with Iran. Cuba is dealing with Russia. Venezuela is dealing with both Cuba and Iran. Another Cold War is looming over our heads and now is not the time to let down our guard and increase our vulnerability to foreign attacks.

33 minutes is all it would take for a missile with a nuclear warhead to reach our shores. Think it could never happen? Who would have ever thought that 4 airplanes filled with people would simultaneously be used as missiles on American soil to bring down the World Trade Center towers, The Pentagon, killing thousands of Americans in the process?

Watch this video clip for a better understanding.

Breathing to Death

How is it possible that the greenest state in the country is also the dirtiest? Apparently, more people die of air pollution in California than car crashes (3,812 vs 2,521). How does the hippiest, tree hugging state with the most liberal environmental views allow things to get this bad? Wasn't California the first state to regulate vehicle exhaust? Didn't they set the nation's first air quality standards? Don't they have their own air quality standards, which are even more stringent than what the federal government imposes? The answer to all of these are "yes". That being said, one must wonder if environmental policies really work. How can billions of dollars that have been spent there over the last 50 years to keep the air clean result in statistics like this?

The 'S' Word

Like it or not, we are heading towards Socialism and we have nobody to blame but ourselves. What are we to expect when we allow the government to buy huge stakes in our banks, insurance companies, auto makers, real estate, health care, and countless other industries? At what point do people start to understand that a bailout is not a free lifesaver that the government throws from a ship? The bailout puts the government in control of the entities it helps. All of us will pay for it whether we want it or not. The problem is, the bailout pie keeps getting bigger and more companies are seeking it's protection as the days go by. Nobody seems to know how or why, but every day, the tab grows higher with no end in sight. Democrats have taken Bush's $700 billion bailout bill, which originally even many Democrats feared was too much help from the government, and tacked on an additional $1.5 TRILLION (so far). Estimates fear that the US has been put on the hook for $5 TRILLION.

It's getting completely out of hand and people are just sitting by watching it all happen while liberal left chant the mantra "It's all Bush's fault" because it's easier than taking personal responsibility. According to them, he caused the economy to grow to the point of collapse which is why he bailed them out, and now that he started the bailout process, anything that goes wrong with it can and will be blamed on him too. At this point the Democrats are throwing everything at the bailout including the kitchen sink. They have nothing to lose because they realize that they've got a free ride on this bailout spectacle since they can always point the finger back at Bush. At some point, the actions being taken now by Democrats in congress will have to be answered to and Bush will be long gone by then to take any more responsibilities.

But in fairness to the people who subscribe to the theory that our economic crisis is entirely Bush's fault, it's easier to blame the government than to think that this was caused by our own people's greed and speculation. If they can pass the blame onto the government, then the government would be 'required' to fix all their problems. Throw personal responsibility out the window alltogether. While these same people feel that the government's lack of industry regulation is the sole cause of our problems, they suddenly trust the people they blame under new leadership an illusion of change. To these people, maybe Socialism is the solution since they will always look at the government as the problem and the solution.

Generations of Valor

In honor of Veterans Day, I would like to post an Associated Press photograph that first appeared in newspapers in November 2004. The occasion of the photograph was a Veterans Day Commemoration at Dallas City Hall on November 11, 2004. The veterans pictured are Houston James, a survivor of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941, and Marine Staff Sgt. Mark Graunke Jr., a memeber of an ordnance disposal team who lost his left hand, one leg, and an eye while defusing a bomb in Iraq in July 2003.

Bare Naked Politics

By request, I will now post a story that speaks to the minds and hearts of a special segment of people I call my friends, while keeping with the general theme of advancing conservatism. To illustrate my previous point on why raising corporate taxes is bad for the economy, I present you with an issue near and dear to many liberals and conservatives alike: Strippers.

Democrats in Palm Beach County can’t seem to balance their budgets so they want to raise stripper 'taxes’ by 400% (or fees) to make up for it. Everyone loses except Big government. How? All this new increased tax revenue does is encourage the government to be fiscally irresponsible at the expense of the taxpaying community. Businesses lose strippers who cant afford the fees which means loss of revenues is in liquor sales. Strippers have to raise their prices, which are ultimately passed on to the patrons, who in turn bring home less money to their families. Meanwhile, the tax revenue generated by the strippers is enough to keep a $100K per year politican on staff to come up with even more ways to tax the people. Isn't liberalism great?

Imagine if every time you were unable to pay your bills, you could just come up with a new arbitrary tax that you never thought of before. Tax your children for electricity in their bedroom. Tax your spouse for cuddle time. Tax your friends for each laugh. I think I'm going to tax my boss for being late to lunch.

The Remaining 5%

Ok, let's review. Barak Obama promises that anyone earning under $200K will get a tax 'credit' and that people earning between $200-$250K will see no increase in their taxes. He refers to that as 95% of the country. Fine. I see nothing wrong with people keeping more of their money.

Obama also promises to raise taxes on everyone earning over $250K per year, the remaining so called '5%'. That includes everyone from small business owners to large corporations. In case you're not aware, these are the people who sign the paychecks for 95% of Americans.

While our country is seeing growing unemployment rates with record numbers of bankruptcies and layoffs, how exactly will raising the taxes of the people who employ 95% of Americans going to help the situation? Americans who have bought into the idea that they will be better off with Obama's tax credit plan have not taken into consideration the bigger picture. What good will an extra one or 2 thousand dollars be in your pocket if you don't have a job or can't afford to buy things you want? Who do you think pays when corporate taxes go up?

At 39.3%, US Businesses pay the 2nd highest corporate tax rates in the world. Globally, the average corporate tax rates have fallen for 17 consecutive years while the US has remained the same. In fact, US Corporate taxes are 50% higher than the global average. (http://www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/23470.html) Those evil, rich, and successful top 5%-ers that keep 95% of Americans employed are already paying over 50% of taxes collected by the Federal Government. People who whine about "tax cuts for the rich" and "corporate tax breaks" have been brainwashed by the MSM to think that success is a bad thing. Typically, these same people are conditioned to be angered by news of American oil companies earning record profits. People need to learn and understand why corporate success is good for our country and that the more money corporations make, the more people they can afford to hire, and the less expensive their goods and services will be.

Many seem to think there's no way out of our current economic problems unless we raise taxes somewhere, somehow. This is not so. Instead of taking more money away from hard working Americans, why not take away some money from our government that is not using it effectively. Big and ineffective government is part of the reason we're in the mess we're in right now. GWB did not help. Why make the problem worse by making the government even bigger?

And on a side note... (but still relevant to this topic)
Obama will very likely also be raising gasoline taxes to help cover the cost of all his new spending programs. To prepare us all for it, the MSM is already devising a way to spin the story and make us all feel good about paying more in taxes. By setting out to make us feel and look like gluttonous gas guzzling pigs who seek nothing but excuses to drive excessively and pollute the environment, they welcome the benefits on society that an increase in gas taxes will bring. Read the story here:
"Taxing our gas guzzling relapse -
As gas prices fall, Americans seem to be using relief at the pump as an excuse to drive more. Could a gas tax bring unexpected benefits?"
(How's that for spin?)

We - could - go - all - the - way!

Maybe it's a stretch to think that the Miami Dolphins have a chance at the playoffs this year, but it sure hasn't felt this good to be a Dolfan in a long time. Today's win against the Seattle Seahawks gives the Dolphins a 5 - 4 record. The prospect of being a champtionship team is looming for the first time since the Marino days. Maybe not this year, although if they keep playing the way they've been the last several games, anything is possible. After the last few seasons, I would have been happy with just a few wins this year, but they've stepped up and delivered much more. Beating both of last years AFC Championship teams and one of our biggest rivals, The Bills, would have been enough. We just might be destined for greatness!

Firearms sales skyrocketing

Firearm sales across the US are skyrocketing. Businesses are seeing as much as 10 fold increases in sales while manufacturers are struggling to keep up with demand. Prices have begun to soar and wait times for many popular firearms are stretching into the months.

There are two main reasons for this surge in gun purchases. The first has to do with our fledgling economy. There is an understandable fear that during difficult times that crime will rise and people feel a greater need to protect themselves and their families. The second and even greater driving force behind this rush to gun ownership is the election of Barak Obama. He has clearly stated his opposition to personal firearms ownership and people are responding by gearing up and preparing for the most sweeping gun control legislation this country has ever seen. And, with good reason.

The prevailing thought by most gun owners and purchasers is that any future gun control legislation will only affect purchases of newly manufactured firearms. Therefore, anything currently in existence at the time legislation takes place would presumably be off limits to the government. This is how the Clinton 1994 Assault Weapons Ban worked. Many critics of that ban say the government didn't do enough to restrict ownership so there's no telling what future legislation will bring. The anti-gun lobby is rich and powerful. With Democrats controlling both the White House and Congress, future gun bans are certain and the idea of mandatory registration and / or confiscation of firearms is not completely unimaginable.

The media is keeping relatively quiet about this right now for a good reason. They are trying to prevent a frenzy of gun purchases that is sure to give even more people a stake in the battle to minimize gun control. Take my word for it, the panic buying has already begun and will not slow down in the foreseeable future. I have already witnessed this take place once before and there's good reason to believe that the next ban will become permanent. If you have any desire to purchase a firearm, I encourage you to go out and do so soon because whenever legislation does occur, there will not be much warning.

Winds of change

You can already begin to feel the winds of change. There is an uplifting sensation throughout the black community that I have never seen or felt before. For the most part, it's a feeling of pride that even as a non-black person, I cannot help but feel for our country. We have come a very long way which makes me very proud to be an American. There is also a darker side (no pun intended) to this change that is emerging. A smug, arrogant, & self righteous posture by a small segment of the black community as if they themselves had achieved something great on their own. For now, everyone gets a 'pass' since this is such a monumental time in history that humility may be impossible for some. I believe this will change once the dust settles and accountability begins however, if I'm wrong and things get worse, it will not bode well for race relations and it could set us back many years.

In other news, a couple of interesting stories caught my eye today:

US and Global markets plunged for the second straight day following Barak Obama's election. (This shouldn't come as any surprise since pretty much every publicly traded company earns over $250k/year.)

Day One

Obama Elected as President of the United States of America

Despite the last 6 months of the main stream media fellating Barak Obama, nearly half the country still voted against him. Obama won the majority of votes in only 28 of the 50 states (just over half). But considering the last 8 years of Bush, is anybody really surprised the Republicans lost? The biggest surprise is that The Great Messiah won only 52% of the popular votes after having spent over $600 million in his campaign. To put things into perspective, consider that Ronald Reagan won the majority of votes in 49 of the 50 states in 1984 with far more popular votes and 525 electoral votes (versus Obama’s paltry 375). Make no mistake, conservative values are still alive and well in the U.S.A.

So, to all the people who voted for Obama, Congratulations. Now is your time to celebrate. The hangover begins January 21st, 2009. To those who didn’t vote for Obama, don’t give up on your values. In the last 150 years, only once have Democrats ever been elected to stay in The White House for more than two consecutive terms.

Welcome

Welcome to my blog. I created this blog as a way help like minded people keep up with what's going on in the world. My views are challenging to many as I tend to be a very conservative and independent thinker who believes strongly in preservation of our constitution with particular emphasis on the 2nd Amendment. I see conservatism as the only way for our society to grow economically and advance as a civilization. I see the government as a means of control where and when it is not always needed. I will be exploring injustices in our political system and making the truth known to everyone. For many people, the truth is not always desired. If you are one of those people who enjoys living in wonderland, this blog is not for you.

I plan to use this blog to share my opinions as well as other interesting facts, tidbits, and news I encounter around the net.
